We designed and built this fuel injection steel shield for use in automotive engines. This shield was manufactured from 1008 / 1010 cold rolled steel.
The customer provided us a print and .DWG AutoCAD file for details, which we utilized to design the required stamping die and tooling. We used DCC programmable CMMs to ensure that products manufactured by our precision stamping process delivered tight tolerances of 0.003”. Zinc phosphate coating was applied on the shields as they have good paint bonding characteristics. Black E-coating was applied prior to shipping the shields to customer’s location in Mexico. We manufactured 1 million pieces of this automotive shield within 15 days.
